Description

The airport wishes to procure the services of a competent water management provider to manage all hot and cold-water systems including cooling towers. They will be responsible for inspection and monitoring, surveys, providing advise re remedial action and undertaking this work where requested. These areas are currently categorised as Domestic Water management, Cooling Tower Management, IDQP testing, Legionella Sampling. To meet the requirements of L8 the airport wishes to procure the services of a competent water management provider to manage all hot and cold-water systems including cooling towers. This also includes other ‘at risk’ systems such as: — evaporative condensers, — all other plant and systems containing water likely to exceed 20oC that can release as a spray or an aerosol role will include as standard IDQP samples (weekly flush, sampling); domestic water temperature monitoring; weekly monitoring and clean, sampling of cooling towers, random sampling, site wide temperature monitoring. The water management provider may also be asked to provide the following on an ad hoc basis: — completes building surveys when requested, — undertake tasks including inspection and monitoring tasks, — inspects all accessible parts of the systems for damage or contamination and notifies the contract manager of remedial actions where required, — records the findings of all such inspections, assessments and maintenance regimes and update the logbooks accordingly, — advise the responsible person and his deputy on the outcome of inspections and areas of concern so that recommended preventative work can be implemented to maintain appropriate standards for preventing or controlling legionella, — liaise with the responsible person and his deputy responsible on the completion of recommended remedial work, — provide legislative and industry updates and advice to Birmingham Airport in all matters relating to Water Hygiene, — provide water management in accordance with IATA drinking water quality pool safety standards.
