FUMIGATE Project – 2-Lot Tender for 5 GEP Field Trials against Potato Cyst Nemat

Swansea University has launched the new FUMIGATE project to develop innovative products to control soil pests which will help farmers improve the quality of their crop, with crop protection specialist Certis Europe, as the only industry partner.The project will focus on developing new products based on Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) which have the ability to control soil pests such as nematodes and the objective of the tender will be to carry out 5 GEP (Good Experimental Practices) field trials within the EU Central regulatory zone, against Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) on potato in accordance with the specific EPPO (European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization) Guidelines PP 1/25 (3) and PM 7/40 (4).In order to conduct this exciting project, the FUMIGATE team at Swansea University wish to award contracts for:LOT A Sandy Soil - 3 Trials to be run at 2 levels of Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) presenceLOT B Loamy Soil - 2 Trials to be run at 2 levels of Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) presence.Lots to be awarded in February 2022 with project to run between April and November 2022 and final report submitted in December 2022NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
