Hertfordshire County Council (the "Council") is carrying out Pre-Procurement Market Engagement for the aforementioned.The Council will consider the feedback received to help inform the Council’s options and further decision making. For the avoidance of doubt, this stage of the project is not part of a formal procurement process and the Council is not committing, at this stage, to carrying out such a process. Participation or non-participation in the PPME shall not prevent any supplier participating in a potential future procurement, nor is it intended that any information supplied as part of the PPME shall place any supplier at an advantage in a potential procurement process. Participation in the PPME will be at each organisation’s own cost. No expense in responding to this PPME will be reimbursed by the Council. Further information can be found within the attached documentation. You are invited to submit a completed questionnaire by 12 noon on 28th February 2022. Lot 1: Hertfordshire County Council (the ‘Council’) is carrying out Pre-Procurement Market Engagement (‘PPME’) in relation to a Body Removal Service. The Council is seeking to appoint Contractors for the removal of cadavers from the place of death and other locations where the death may be referred to a Coroner. It is intended to appoint sufficient Contractor(s) to provide a service to the thirteen (13) areas detailed below.The Areas of operation are as follows: Area 1 Baldock, Hitchin, Letchworth  Area 2 Royston  Area 3 Stevenage, Codicote, Knebworth  Area 4 Dacorum  Area 5 St Albans, Harpenden  Area 6 Welwyn, Hatfield, Potters Bar  Area 7 Broxbourne, Cheshunt Area 8 Three Rivers  Area 9 Watford  Area 10 Bushey, Borehamwood, Radlett  Area 11 Hoddesdon Area 12 East Herts – Bishops Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, Buntingford  Area 13 East Herts – Hertford, WareThe Contractor(s), under the instruction of the Authorised Officer or his successors or assigns, will collect the deceased and take them directly to the hospital mortuary or his premises unless directed otherwise by the Police. The Contractor(s) may also be required to conduct the transfer of the deceased between hospitals for example transfer of deceased to suitable or specialist premises for storage and or postmortem. The Council gives no assurance as to the number of occasions on which the Service of any Contractor will be called upon.
