Published

Description

Driving the Electric Revolution (DER) is an Innovate UK (IUK) Challenge program to support UK industry to seize the economic opportunities from the global transition to clean technologies and electrification. The programme will help businesses across numerous sectors including transport, energy, construction and agriculture to invest and work together to capitalise on the UK’s strengths in this technology. The DER program vision is “To make the UK globally recognised as the centre of excellence in PEMD manufacturing processes”. As part of that program, Newcastle University was awarded a large grant to establish a new DER Innovation Centre (DER-IC) in the North East of England. DER-IC NE will concentrate on the prototyping and scale-up of power electronics and electrical machines. A new, separate IUK grant is funding the purchase of the system detailed in this tender document. The scope is for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the equipment as detailed in Section 3, with after sales support, a minimum 36 months parts and labour warranty and maintenance. This should include on completion of installation a complete set of operating and maintenance documents. The equipment can be new or Ex-Demo, providing that the performance of the Ex-demo equipment is not diminished compared to that of the new machine. Vendors can provide a submission based on new equipment or ex-demo equipment as options. Whether the equipment is new or ex-demo the same levels of requirements stated in this tender must be accomplished. System must be “plug and play” and must include everything required to operate it from delivery.
