Description

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and its associated bodies are looking to develop a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the provision of products which shall include, but shall not necessarily be restricted to; consumables, reagents and equipment (the “categories”) which are required in order to administer Covid 19 tests and which are necessary as part of the UK Governments overall response to Covid 19 (albeit their ultimate use during the term of the DPS may not be limited to pandemic related activities). Further details of these categories will be set out within the procurement documents which DHSC is looking to issue in January 2021. The DHSC are looking to instigate a procurement exercise (currently scheduled for January 2021) with a view to setting up a DPS for the delivery of the full scope of consumables, reagents and equipment required for the purposes of administering Covid 19 tests. It is currently envisaged that the products required by the DHSC may include (but may not be limited to) plastics, equipment, accessories, liquids, hoods, cabinets, plate spinner, RNA extraction, plate sealers, liquid handlers, liquid dispensing, lab furniture and refrigeration. Further details of the categories of products covered by the proposed DPS will be set out within the procurement documentation. It is acknowledged that as technologies in terms of testing capability develops, the DHSC’s requirements in term of the categories of products may also change. The DHSC reserves the right to vary its requirements in respect of these categories, in accordance with the terms of the DPS arrangements and in compliance with PCR 2015.
