Description

London Underground Limited (LUL) is inviting companies to participate in market engagement for One Person Operation Platform to Train Closed Circuit Television (OPO PtT CCTV) procurement(s) as part of its New Tube for London (NTfL) and World Class Capacity (WCC) programmes. The OPO PtT CCTV system is comprised of three subsystems: Imaging subsystem — comprises station based equipment which includes: — The camera installations including their supports, power and signal cables (be these analogue or digital), — The amplification, mixing and switching equipment to create combined platform images suitable for OPO PTI use and feeding to the transmission system and to other systems such as control rooms. Transmission subsystem: — Receives the OPO PtT Interface images from the platform system and transmits them using Digital Video Broadcast — Terrestrial (DVB-T) technology or other wireless transmission technology. — The transmission antenna system (leaky feeder) the receiver antenna system (train carried) and the transmitters and receivers plus signal conditioning and processing equipment on the trains which will provide the PTI images to the driver's cab. Display subsystem: — Displays CCTV images of the PTI to a train operator in cab derived from the transmission system. — The display subsystem requirements for NTfL are constrained in terms of space allocation by the current rolling stock procurement. — Monitors (which are supplied by train manufacturer) should be able to receive both analogue and digital signals from the transmission system receivers and processing equipment. This market engagement for OPO PtT CCTV spans two London Underground (LU) programmes: — World Class Capacity (WCC) — OPO PtT CCTV for the Jubilee, Central and Waterloo & City (W&C) lines. The focus of Central and W&C lines is life extension of the current system until the whole OPO system is upgraded under the NTfL programme (see below). — New Tube for London (NTfL) -The NTfL Programme is a co-ordinated series of line upgrades for the Piccadilly, Central, Bakerloo and Waterloo & City (W&C) lines to include new train systems, railway control systems and infrastructure currently anticipated to be implemented during the 2020s. These lines are planned to undergo asset renewals in a comprehensive, consistent and systemic manner to achieve a wide range of benefits and whole life cost efficiencies. OPO PtT CCTV is part of the train systems category and is in scope for all NTfL lines except W&C. The existing OPO PtT CCTV system must stay operational until the current trains are fully withdrawn from service in the 2020s (Piccadilly and Bakerloo) and 2030s (Central). All the OPO PtT CCTV subsystems plus an overall system design are required for the NTfL lines.
