This new contract will be awarded for a period of 4 years with the option to extend for a further 1+1 years while integration and service development takes place within the Local Delivery System. This contracting period will commence on June 1st 2022 and also aligns the service with the Hampshire and Surrey Heath Integrated Urgent Care Service. The Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) intention is to award to Southern Hampshire Primary Care Alliance (SHPCA) the CAS between the hours of 08:00 - 22:00. This decision supports the Portsmouth system infrastructure ensuring that expertise in delivering CAS provision overnight is retained within the system and economies of scale can be realised. Partnering Health Limited (PHL) will carry out the overnight CAS, please see separate notification of this. Please note the Contract value is for the maximum total contract duration of 4 years with optional 1 +1 year extension options. Lot 1: The current proposal is to award to Southern Hampshire Primary Care Alliance (SHPCA) the IUC CAS between the hours of 08:00 - 22:00 7 days a week 365 days per year for a period of 4 years with the option for a further 1+1 years from June 1st 2022. This decision supports the development of general practice at scale, ensures integration with enhanced access, and takes the opportunity to invest in general practice sustainability today and transformation tomorrow making the service better for patients and health practitioners. This decision further supports the Portsmouth system infrastructure, ensuring that expertise in delivering CAS provision across the local delivery system is retained and economies of scale can be realised. Utilising SHPCA invests in our local workforce by supporting local GPs, which in turn supports local practices - Improves access to primary care and expands capacity, increasing the numbers of appointments available. Local providers located and hosted in the locality in which they work in hours, supports the investment in our local workforce.
