Description

The Baggage system comprises of the In-bound baggage (IBB) and Out bound baggage (OBB) works. The scope of works is to progress the RIBA Stage 3 design to RIBA Stage 7. IBB Works include the removal of 2 nr. carousels and the creation of 5 nr. carousel. The OBB works include the reconfiguration of the existing check-in desk to a new location and the creation of 3 nr. racetracks with the associated make-up points, with design provision for a 4th racetrack. The Baggage System comprises of:- 1) IBB – In-Bound Baggage 2) OBB – Out Bound Baggage Design. The design is currently equivalent to RIBA Stage 3 and will be developed by the successful contractor to RIBA Stage 7. In-bound baggage. The IBB Scope includes removal of existing Domestic arrivals baggage reclaim belt and the existing International baggage reclaim belts, design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 4 international and CTA Baggage reclaim belt, 1 international out of gauge reclaim belt, 1 Domestic Reclaim Belt and 1 domestic out of gauge reclaim belt. The works include the ancillary monitoring systems, integration with Other contractors undertaking the MEP works, Structural Works, Architectural Works and Fit-Out works. Out Bound Baggage The OBB Scope of works include the removal of the existing baggage make up point and creation of 4 race tracks to accommodate additional make-up points. The works include the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the baggage system, which includes the M+E, conveyors and controls works. The HBS Standard 3 machines will be free-issued to the successful contractor. Civil works include the primary and secondary steelwork (where required), walkovers, builders works, bollards, traffic marking, workstation integration, stairs, handrails, balustrades, sundry build items and all local services works. Controls scope includes but is not limited to the role of Baggage integrator, provision of Functional design specification (FDS), Detailed design specification (DDS), high level controls, low level controls, main control panel works, Programmable logic controllers (PLC) hardware and software, Graphical user interface (GUI), Emergency stop (e-Stop) system conveyor control hardware, conveyor network hardware, Automatic tag reader (ATR) and it’s interfaces, Scada interface, SAC Interface and HBS Standard 3 interface. Conveyors scope includes but not is limited to the design, including the geometrics and footprint of the conveyor system, mechanical supply, installation and removal of conveyors, conveyor adaptations. Mechanical, electrical and public health A separate M+E scope undertaken by others includes but is not limited to the heating, cooling and ventilation of the baggage hall, life safety systems including all fire systems, connections of the access control systems to the main fire alarm system, distribution boards and associated cabling, earthing, lighting, containment for power supplies, CCTV’s, final connections, validations, testing and commissioning and Site acceptance testing. The electrical supply will be provided by Others to the successful Contractor’s local connection panels. The successful Contractor’s scope will be from the Electrical panel onwards. Close coordination will be required with the M+E Contractor which is to be appointed. Information technology. Information technology includes the design and implementation of the SCADA/MIS, SAC, CCTV, PLC Zoning, Controls design and strategy, Communications and network infrastructure, Configuration of the communications and Network infrastructure, provision of managed infrastructure to third parties, radios, access control, IT infrastructure and Wireless Infrastructure. The works are only related to the BHS and not security. There will be interfaces with LCY IT which include the BMS, SCADA, WLAN and interface with the airport operations database.
