Voluntary ex-ante transparency notice - maintenance contract for a scanner

A contract was signed in 2015 for the procurement of a scanner with the supplier Excela (previously BancTec AB). In addition a maintenance contract was signed with the supplier. The maintenance contract was for 2 years with an option for an extension for 1 year at a time on the same terms. The contract has been renewed each year since 2017. The contract has an annual value of NOK 80,000. DFØ still requires a maintenance contract for the scanner. We believe that DFØ has the legal basis to extend the maintenance contract without publishing a contest, cf. the Public Procurement Regulations, section 13.4 letter b, as Exela is the only supplier that can carry out maintenance on the scanner that DFØ owns. DFØ is publishing a voluntary ex-ante transparency notice as we have not found other relevant suppliers that can carry out maintenance. Lot 1: DFØ needs a maintenance contract for the scanner.
