Description

Renfrewshire Council is looking to engage with suitably experienced and qualified utility infrastructure providers/specialists to understand if there are any opportunities for innovative or alternative approaches to utility infrastructure provision, delivery, development and/or financing arrangements for the GAIA site. The Glasgow Airport Investment Area (GAIA) project is 1 of 3 major infrastructure projects being delivered by Renfrewshire Council and funded by the Glasgow City Region City Deal. The project will deliver new infrastructure and environmental improvements with the objective of creating a world class business and commercial location around the airport and existing manufacturing centres in the heart of Renfrewshire. The Council is currently conducting a procurement process for the contract for the design and construction works for the GAIA project and the construction is expected to commence in late 2018. More information of the Glasgow City Region City Deal and the GAIA project can be found here: http://www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/article/2089/Glasgow-City-Region-City-Deal The council has a developing masterplan for the site and is now considering options for securing capacity and servicing the site from a public utility infrastructure perspective. On 11.12.2017, the Scottish Government announced that GAIA will be the site of the new National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland (NMIS), the first major developer to commit to the GAIA site. More information on NMIS and what it means for Scotland can be found here: https://news.gov.scot/news/national-manufacturing-institute-for-scotland In light of the NMIS announcement and the longer term development masterplan for the site, Renfrewshire Council would like to engage with suitably experienced public utility infrastructure providers/specialists to understand whether there are any opportunities for innovative or alternative approaches to utility infrastructure provision, delivery, development and/or financing arrangements for the GAIA site. Any suitably experienced and interested public utility infrastructure providers/specialists should send a profile of your company, case studies of your previous experience with innovative or alternative approaches to utility infrastructure provision, delivery, development and/or financing arrangements and potential topics for discussion to the Renfrewshire Council City Deal team by 12.1.2018 to allow the Council to schedule meetings in 1.2018. Please send responses here: citydeal@renfrewshire.gov.uk
