Description
Vivid are the largest provider of affordable housing in Hampshire with around 70 000 customers in 30 000 homes in the South East, mainly across Hampshire and Surrey. We have an ambitious development programme to deliver over 1 400 properties per year for the next 4 years and we would like a significant number of these to be provided using volumetric modular production processes. Our strategy includes flats and houses to suit all types of tenure, meeting national space standards. We expect that the framework will enable us to take advantage of the cost and time savings associated with volumetric construction, contributing towards a reduction in our carbon footprint. This will also contribute to the longer-term sustainability impact, through reduced occupier running and whole life costs. We would generally expect to steer away from gas central heating and would be interested to explore alternative heating systems. Vivid would like to engage with the industry to explore the use of modular construction on a range of different housing association-led sites; where we would also expect the successful contractors to play a very strong role in the planning and viability process. We have a clearly defined set of employers’ requirements, with an expectation for the contractors to be able to design and build to specification, to create continuity across our housing portfolio.
