Newport City Homes (NCH) wishes to appoint an experienced, competent and qualified Contractor to undertake these works.Newport City Homes own and maintain three ten storey tower block flats with lift access.Each tower block is served by two passenger lifts. This project requires the removal of the existing lifts in each of the tower blocks and the installation of new evacuation lifts within these high-rise buildings including associated works.The form of contract will be a Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) Design and Build Contract 2016 Edition.The successful Bidder will be required to comply with Newport City Home’s policies and procedures as well as any statutory obligations that are relevant to the undertaking and delivery of these works. This will include but not limited to Health & Safety, IT Policies, Data Protection, Data Sharing and Processing and any confidentiality agreements as required by the Employer.Recent press releases will show NCH has commenced a journey to merge with Melin Homes to create a new organisation. Bidders will accept that once the merger process is complete, any Contract concluded as a result of this procurement process will be novated to the new organisation under the existing terms.For full details of the requirement, please refer to the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document and associated documents. The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs), however, the evaluation will be based solely on the criteria set outfor the procurement.All tender costs and liabilities incurred by bidders shall be the sole responsibility of bidders.Newport City Homes reserves the right to award the contract in whole or part.Newport City Homes reserves the right to annul the tendering process and not award any contract.All documents to be priced in GBP and all payments will be made in GBP.All documents to be priced in GBP excluding VAT.(WA Ref:144994)Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations.
