Description
Prior information notice in 2018, a prior information notice was published advising the market of the intention to extend the contractual arrangement by direct award until 31.3.2020 to allow for an ambitious programme exploring options for an integrated service model that would combine a range of different services, for example, health visiting, school nursing, special school nursing and immunisations and vaccinations. Following an extensive review and stakeholder events, it was decided that commissioners were not yet ready to embark upon such a radical approach. Not least because of the financial pressures some of the commissioning organisations were facing. Commissioners are still fully committed to achieve integration of services in line with the ambitions set out within the NHS Long Term Plan. The review enabled commissioners to establish a mutually agreed outcomes framework; ambition to co-locate teams where possible and aspirations to work together within local care partnerships. As a result of commissioners moving away from a joint pooled procurement approach, the CCGs are reflecting on the contract specification and ensuring it is fit for purpose in line with new known pressures and demands, such as significant increase in requests for Education, Health and Care Plans, our intentions related to sensory processing and how we develop MSK services as part of the service development plan. The specification and financial envelope are under final review. The CCGs are therefore proposing to extend the contract by direct award until 31.3.2021 The value for a 12 month award is 6 650 000 GBP plus the potential enhancement for the increase in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) activity of up to 347 000 GBP. The deadline of this PIN is 6.11.2019.
