Provision of Connections and Emergency, Locate and Repair Services ("ELR") for Southern Gas Networks ("SGN")

The agreements will be predominantly for the supply of skilled labour to undertake: Connections: 1. Laying of new gas mains and/or service connections up to and including 2 bar. 2. Mains and/or service disconnections and alterations up to and including 2 bar. 3. Large volume or complex new Connections works including but not limited to the installation of new mains and services to large volume (typically greater than 100 properties) domestic housing developments, infills, fuel poor schemes or the installation of long length mains or service to large industrial customers. 4. Mixture of conventional operational techniques, including but not limited to open cut, or trenchless for both mains and services and other established construction techniques. Emergency Locate & Repair (ELR) of low & medium pressure gas mains and/or service connections to domestic housing or to large industrial customers. Lot 1: Lot 1 Isle of Wight CONNECTIONS The agreements will be predominantly for the supply of skilled labour to undertake: 1. Laying of new gas mains and/or service connections up to and including 2 bar. 2. Mains and/or service disconnections and alterations up to and including 2 bar. 3. Large volume or complex new Connections works including but not limited to the installation of new mains and services to large volume (typically greater than 100 properties) domestic housing developments, infills, fuel poor schemes or the installation of long length mains or service to large industrial customers. 4. Mixture of conventional operational techniques, including but not limited to open cut, or trenchless for both mains and services and other established construction techniques. Emergency Locate & Repair (ELR) 1. The services will involve the repair low & medium pressure gas mains and/or service connections to domestic housing or to large industrial customers and, if required, any associated replacement activity required in accordance with SGN’s policies and procedures. 2. The provision of services shall require ELR teams to be available to respond to, and make safe, emergency circumstances that may arise from time to time and require the remediation of gas escapes on SGN’s network at pressures up to 2 bar. This may require the Contractor to participate in the Employer defined rotas. 3. These services will not require any reinstatement services to be provided by the successful Contractor/s other than backfilling and making good of customer’s unmade and grassed areas and public verges. All other reinstatement services will be completed by the existing reinstatement contractors operating currently with SGN. Lot 2: Lot 2 East Kent CONNECTIONS The agreements will be predominantly for the supply of skilled labour to undertake: 1. Laying of new gas mains and/or service connections up to and including 2 bar. 2. Mains and/or service disconnections and alterations up to and including 2 bar. 3. Large volume or complex new Connections works including but not limited to the installation of new mains and services to large volume (typically greater than 100 properties) domestic housing developments, infills, fuel poor schemes or the installation of long length mains or service to large industrial customers. 4. Mixture of conventional operational techniques, including but not limited to open cut, or trenchless for both mains and services and other established construction techniques.
