Norfolk library and information service: we are looking to talk to potential suppliers about replacing our current library self-service kiosks. These are used to loan and return items to our customers as well as allow them to manage their accounts with us. At present we have 106 self-service units in 47 libraries across the county. Our current self-service offer is based on an RFID system using large free-standing kiosks that carry out loan transactions, provide account information and take customer payment in cash (both notes and coins) and in some unit’s card payments as well. Recognising the needs of our customers and the way they use and pay for library services is changing we are interested in talking to a variety of potential suppliers. We are interested in looking at alternative options, so we have set aside 2 days to have discussions and demonstrations from potential suppliers in July. The dates are Thursday 25th of July and Wednesday 31.7.2019 at County Hall, Norwich. At this stage we expect the meetings and demonstrations will go on for 2 hours. Following this supplier engagement, we anticipate procuring equipment in the autumn with a view to rolling out the chosen replacement in the first quarter of 2020.
