Description

ultracentrifuge for the Institute of Regeneration and Repair (IRR); The current Ultracentrifuge in the IRR North is approaching the end of operational life, with a recent fault rendering the equipment unusable for several weeks. Upgrading to new equipment will ensure reliability and meet the growing needs of users, which has increased due to the addition of large research project groups at the IRR North. It’s critical that new equipment is procured and installed quickly to prevent further delays to experiments, avoid postponement of studies and mitigate the risk of knock-on effects such as animal welfare concerns and sample loss. 3 x Floor-standing centrifuges for the Centre of Discovery Brain Sciences (CDBS); The Centre for Discovery Brain Science in the central area currently occupies the Hugh Robson building and 1 George Square. The facility employs around 450 researchers and postgraduate students working primarily on developmental disorders and diseases of the brain.
