Description

Wales and West Utilities (WWU) seeks contact with suitably qualified and experienced suppliers who may be able to deliver an emergency gas escape service. WWU covers 2 500 000 homes (7 500 000 people) and businesses in Wales and the South West of England (https://www.wwutilities.co.uk/) and responds to 90 000 gas emergencies a year, within 1 hour of reporting to the National Gas Emergency number (https://www.wwutilities.co.uk/services/smell-gas/). The service is currently delivered via an in-house team of 266 first call operatives (FCOs). The FCO must attend and ensure the gas leak is made safe for people and property. WWU is beginning a “pre-market engagement” to establish the size and capability of the market to deliver the gas emergency service (and other elements of our current direct labour organisation). WWU are hosting a Briefing Day on 24th June and interested parties should contact Brent Harkins (Head of Procurement) on brent.harkins@wwutilties.co.uk for more information.
