The Northern Ireland Policing Board has a statutory function to hold the Chief Constable to account for his actions and to secure an effective and efficient police service for all the community. The Board has particular statutory duties which aim to ensure that police professional standards are upheld, such as the responsibility to review the outcome of the Police Service Northern Ireland’s (PSNI) disciplinary procedures. The Board is seeking to appoint a contractor to provide a pool of qualified stenographers who will provide verbatim transcription of Police Appeal Tribunal hearings and audio recordings of PSNI misconduct proceedings.
