Mid Ulster District Council is seeking tenders for a contractor to develop and deliver a PEACEPLUS funded Cross Border Heritage programme for Mid Ulster District Council. The purpose of this specification is to set out the scope, minimum standards, service requirements, performance, and all other obligations that the Council requires of the Contractor when delivering this programme contract. This is a dedicated cross community Cross Border Heritage programme. The programme will focus on the shared heritage of The O’Neill and Clans of Ancient Ulster. It seeks to strengthen the sustainable links formed in the PEACE IV funded cross border heritage programme. The programme will promote and nurture cross-border, cross community and peacebuilding initiative focusing on the shared history linkages of the O’Neill and O’Donnell clans through: • Engagement of and bringing together interested groups (Mid Ulster District Council area, Donegal and Monaghan) on a cross community and cross border basis using shared connections of heritage and clans through online workshops and cross border visits. • Heritage weekends for groups and other interested people to come together to learn about the shared history linkages. • Expanding further with groups greater level of research of strategic sites of the Ancient Clans and the O’Neill trail linkages. • Development with groups the ancient clan’s heritage website resource further (https://ancientclans.org/) • A total of 225 participants engaged over a 3 year period. • Promote a greater awareness of and sensitivity to the protection and promotion of our shared heritage; including shared learning on our heritage protection and sensitive development of our heritage sites. The programme will build the participants knowledge and awareness of the O’Neill and Ancient clan supporting them to build friendships through cross- border and cross community peacebuilding initiative enabling them to contribute to a prosperous and peaceful society. It will also promote a greater awareness for all to engage in through the further development of the website.
