Medical assessment: individuals applying to provide childcare or children's social care.

Published

Description

Any organisation providing children's social care must register with Ofsted. Ofsted has responsibility for registering and regulating the following types of children's social care services; children's homes, supported accommodation, residential family centres, independent fostering agencies, voluntary adoption agencies, adoption support agencies and residential holiday schemes for disabled children. In addition, a manager must be appointed at each children's home and supported accommodation service, and must be registered separately with Ofsted. Children's social care services provide care to a range of vulnerable children and young people, including those with physical, psychological or behavioural problems. Certain applicants, such as childminders and social care registered managers, must complete a Health Declaration Form (HDF) before they are registered with Ofsted. On this form applicants must declare any health conditions and share information provided by their GP. The supplier will be required to provide an occupational health assessment and outcome for those individuals Ofsted have referred.
