This contract notice is published on behalf of UKRI (referred to herinafter as Innovate UK). Innovate UK is extending their existing Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for monitoring services. The duration of the DPS has been extended and is now valid until 23 February 2025. Innovate UK provides grant funding to individuals and organisations involved in developing technology and science innovations. It is vital for Innovate UK that the performance of these projects are monitored to ensure that the funding is used properly and effectively. This contract notice replaces the original contract notice for this DPS with reference 2018/S 037-080867. The Original Contracts Finder Notice and all documentation can be found within the link reference in section communication 1.3) MSPs can apply to join the DPS at any time in the life of the DPS by completing the registration details at https://innovateuk.force.com/s/registration-page Lot 1: Additive Manufacturing: 3D Printing As guidance this additive manufacturing/3D printing lot includes projects funded that comprise of the exploitation of AM/3DP (includes pre and post processing) to achieve improved properties and/or cost savings to enable direct manufacture of complex or novel parts. A prospective monitoring services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the additive manufacturing/3D printing lot. Lot 2: Advanced Materials NEC (Not Elsewhere Classified) As guidance this Advanced Materials Not Elsewhere Classified Lot will include projects funded that comprise of the manufacture, manipulation, synthesis and characterisation of advanced materials where expertise is needed that cannot easily be defined elsewhere. NB This lot excludes the manufacture, manipulation, synthesis and characterisation of the following materials: Nanotechnology/ nanomaterials, Composites, Coatings, thin films and surfaces, metals/metallurgy, Ceramics, Polymers, Non-metallics, Electronics and sensors. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Advanced Materials NEC Lot. Lot 3: Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) Lot. Technical Specialities included in this Lot are: Materials (Composite, MMC, CMC, Advanced Composites, Metallics), Electrical and Electronic Systems, Automotive Systems (Drivetrain / Chassis), Communications (On platform), Fluid / Thermodynamics (Simulation, Experimental, Theoretical), Safety or system Software, Manufacturing and Assembly Processes, Design and Simulation, Vehicle Performance and Operations. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) Lot. Lot 4: Aerospace For guidance, the Aerospace Lot includes projects funded to provide investment in the next generation of aerospace technology solutions that will provide significant breakthrough advances supporting new platforms or be able to enhance the competitiveness of existing products or services. Aiming to assist companies, particularly academia and SME’s through: Accelerating the translation of new and acquired knowledge into commercial applications. Targeting global competitive advantage and economic benefit across the supply chain for the UK civil aerospace sector. Stimulating channels for appropriate knowledge flow between the science base and businesses in a manner that maximises relevant technology push with market pull, driven by strong industrial need. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Aerospace Lot. Lot 5: Agriculture As guidance this Agriculture Lot includes projects funded to produce innovative ways of improving the Effectiveness and efficiency of the UK’s Agriculture sector, comprised of these sub-categories: — arable farming (including horticulture and viniculture) — livestock farming (including aquaculture) — agricultural engineering — agricultural genomics (including plant or animal Breeding) — agricultural economics — harvesting technology — on-farm storage A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Agriculture Lot. Lot 6: Assembly / Joining As guidance this Assembly / Joining Lot includes projects funded that comprise of technologies for assembly, disassembly and joining of materials and components and may include automation. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Assembly / Joining Lot. Lot 7: Assisted and Independent Living As guidance, this Assisted and Independent Living Lot comprises projects funded to produce innovative solutions to health and care challenges. Projects funded can be from any sector or discipline that demonstrate the potential for significant positive impact in the health and care sectors, consumer market and economic impact. Solutions may include (but are not limited to): — Technologies and devices for assisted living, self management Of chronic conditions, remote monitoring And supporting independence — Digital Health including products and services that Provide reassurance to individuals and third parties — Repurposing technologies from other sectors Models Of care — Care pathways — Consumer products and services A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Assisted and Independent living Lot. Lot 8: ATI Aerospace Technology Institute For guidance, the Aerospace Technology Institute Research & Technology programme represents a joint Government and Industry investment that seeks to maintain and grow the UK’s competitive position in Aerospace design and manufacture. It is principally a strategic programme addressing large-scale Technology and capability challenges over the medium to long term timeframe. The programme primarily Addresses civil aerospace, on-platform applications with substantial focus given to the four value streams Within UK aerospace strategy: — Aircraft of the Future — Aero structures of the Future — Propulsion of the Future — Smart, Connected and More Electric Aircraft A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the ATI Aerospace Technology Institute. Lot 9: Autonomous Vehicles As guidance this Autonomous Vehicles Lot is comprised of projects funded to support the UK automotive sector including but not limited to: — SAE level 3, 4 and 5 technologies — Optimised travel, timing and routing — Sensors and processing for autonomous driving — Simulation and system modelling — Business models related to autonomous vehicles A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Autonomous Vehicles Lot. Lot 10: Batteries for Automotive Applications For guidance this Batteries for Automotive Applications Lot is comprised of projects funded to support the UK Automotive Battery sector. Batteries for future electrified vehicles are recognised as a major global opportunity for the UK. Around 50 % of the value of future vehicles will be related to the battery and its supporting systems. Future investment decisions around battery development and their manufacture in the UK will likely influence significant wider investment decisions by OEMs, including vehicle production. The complete supply chain for batteries at scale for the automotive sector does not yet fully exist, representing an opportunity for the UK. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Batteries for Automotive Applications Lot. Lot 11: Biosciences As guidance, this Biosciences Lot is comprised of Projects funded to produce innovative solutions to Enabling bioscience technology challenges. Projects Funded can be from any sector or discipline that Demonstrate the potential for significant positive Economic impact. Solutions may include (but are not Limited to): — synthetic biology (including gene synthesis and Genome editing technologies) — computational systems biology (including machine Learning approaches) — harnessing complex biological communities for Industry — biologically-inspired technologies (including biomimetics And applied evolutionary biology Approaches) Focus of projects are to support development of Innovative technologies or processes in agriculture, Food and healthcare supported by bioscience Technology, medical research and engineering and Physical sciences expertise. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must Demonstrate their capability and relevant experience To provide monitoring assurance of projects Addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Biosciences Lot. Lot 12: CAD/CAM/CAE/Simulation, Industry 4.0 As guidance this CAD / CAM / CAE / Simulation, Industry 4.0 Lot includes projects funded that Comprise: — Computer aided and other techniques for design — verification and operation of products and production processes — including digital manufacturing — sensor technology and metrology The CAD/CAM/CAE/Simulation, Industry 4.0 Lot focuses on projects that aim to stimulate and broaden Innovation in manufacturing and materials. Projects may focus on technical feasibility, industrial research or experimental development and could include: — developing more flexible and efficient processes — developing processes that enable faster and greater Customisation of products to satisfy consumer demands — developing materials for ease of manufacture — addressing the manufacturing readiness of growing Sectors — developing materials for targeted performance Specifications — diversifying product and service lines to address new markets — developing novel services and/or business models. Lot 13: Ceramics As guidance this Ceramics Lot includes projects funded that comprise of the manufacture, manipulation, synthesis and characterisation of ceramics, including: — Technical ceramics (for use in highly specialised sectors including aerospace and electronics) — Structural ceramics (primarily focused on building materials) The Ceramics Lot focuses on projects that aim to stimulate and broaden innovation in manufacturing And materials. Projects may focus on technical feasibility, industrial research or experimental Development and could include: — developing more flexible and efficient processes — developing processes that enable faster and greater Customisation of products to satisfy consumer Demands — developing materials for ease of manufacture — addressing the manufacturing readiness of growing Sectors — developing materials for targeted performance Specifications — diversifying product and service lines to address new Markets — developing novel services and/or business models. Projects may focus on Technical feasibility, industrial research or Experimental development and could include: — developing more flexible and efficient processes — developing processes that enable faster and greater Customisation of products to satisfy consumer Demands — developing materials for ease of manufacture — addressing the manufacturing readiness of growing Sectors — developing materials for targeted performance Specifications — diversifying product and service lines to address new Markets — developing novel services and/or business models. Strategically important areas in this drive include: — Internal Combustion Engines — Automotive Lightweighting — Automotive Electric Machines & Power Electronics — Energy storage (including batteries) for Automotive Applications — Other highly disruptive automotive technology added to this, Autonomous & Connected Vehicles are a high-profile area, with a fast developing and potentially massive global opportunity that is well aligned with UK skills and capabilities. Lot 23: Electronics Manufacturing As guidance this Electronics Manufacturing Lot includes projects funded that comprise manufacture of materials, components and assemblies for use in electronic devices, including for use in sensors and lasers. The Electronics Manufacturing Lot focuses on projects that aim to stimulate and broaden innovation in manufacturing and materials. Projects may focus on technical feasibility, industrial research or experimental development and could include: — developing more flexible and efficient processes — developing processes that enable faster and greater customisation of products to satisfy consumer demands — developing materials for ease of manufacture — addressing the manufacturing readiness of growing sectors — developing materials for targeted performance specifications — diversifying product and service lines to address new markets — developing novel services and/or business models, that open up new sources of revenue from manufacturing. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Electronics, Sensors and Photonics Lot. Lot 25: Emerging Technologies As guidance this Emerging Technologies Lot includes projects funded to deliver the Innovate UK Emerging Technologies and Industries Strategy. An emerging Technology is one that is still emerging from, or has only recently emerged from, the research base. The Portfolio of topics is especially dynamic but currently Includes: — Biofilms — Quantum Technologies — Graphene and 2d materials — Energy Harvesting — Novel sensor technologies — ‘Other’ emerging technologies These projects contribute to the UK through economic Impact and societal impact. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Emerging Technologies Lot. Lot 26: Energy Systems and Supply As guidance, this Energy Systems and Supply Lot may include projects funded to produce: — Innovations that lead to significant cost reduction. Improved asset integrity and supply chain Development for current and future UK and global civil Nuclear markets (including decommissioning) — Innovations that, when deployed, will substantially Reduce the cost of energy from offshore wind — Innovations with the ability to flexibly match changing Energy supply and demand profiles of the future. These would create or demonstrate smart system Solutions that integrate energy generation and Demand at local, regional or national scale and could Include methods to shift peak energy use. This can Include storage or advanced management and Optimisation of multiple energy supply and/or demand Sources that encourage flexible energy use and Efficiency Innovations from any sector or technology that address the reduction of cost of energy, reduction in Emissions and enhance the security of supply a prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Energy Systems and Supply Lot. Lot 27: Food As guidance, this Food Lot is comprised of projects funded to produce innovative ways of enhancing food quality in the UK’s Food sector, comprised of these sub-categories: — Enhanced nutritional value — Reducing Sugar, Salt & Fat — New/smarter ingredients — Protein development — Authenticity and Traceability — Food Safety — Smarter Packaging — Modern methods of food manufacturing These projects contribute to the UK through economic impact and societal impact in: Enhancing food quality through, for example: - Quality assurance (supply chain assurance, Traceability, food authenticity) - Nutrition (nutritional composition, diet-related disease) - Food science / technology (food microbiology, food Processing, food preservation, packaging, waste) A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Food Lot. The Forming Technologies Lot focuses on projects that aim to stimulate and broaden innovation in Manufacturing and materials. Projects may focus on Technical feasibility, industrial research or Experimental development and could include: — developing more flexible and efficient processes — developing processes that enable faster and greater Customisation of products to satisfy consumer Demands — developing materials for ease of manufacture — addressing the manufacturing readiness of growing Sectors — developing materials for targeted performance Specifications — diversifying product and service lines to address new Markets developing novel services and/or business Models, that open up new sources of revenue from Manufacturing A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Forming Technologies Lot. Projects within this Lot will: Be centred around new and highly disruptive Technologies (and deployment of such technologies) within the automotive sector require integration with existing and future vehicles across a variety of vehicle categories. Need a business case to support progress towards commercialisation the drive towards zero emissions by 2040 is creating a once in a generation change in the automotive Supply chain and ensuring UK companies are positioned to take advantage of this change is a key focus for government. Solutions may include (but are not limited to): — Precision medicine (both therapy and diagnostic Components) — Advanced Therapies (Cell & Gene Therapies) — Diagnostics (in vitro, in vivo and including sensors And imaging) — Enabling Medical Technologies and Devices — Digital Health To support development of innovative technologies or processes that will help provide any of the following: — Disease prevention and proactive management of Health and chronic conditions — Earlier and better detection and diagnosis of disease Leading to better patient outcomes — Tailored treatments that either change the underlying disease or offer potential cures. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Health Lot. This includes, but is not limited to: — ICE - system and thermal efficiency — PHEV (Plug-in Electric Vehicle) powertrain – full Utility — BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) powertrain – tailored And general purpose — Hybrid and Range extended – incl. fuel cell — Turbo Power and boost Systems — Thermal Efficiency – low & reduced heat loss, valve Control, efficient combustion, heat recovery, fuel Systems conventional and unconventional) — System Efficiency – after treatment, parasitic loads. Drivertrain systems The drive towards zero emissions by 2040 is creating a once in a generation change in the automotive Supply chain and ensuring UK companies are positioned to take advantage of this change is a key focus for government. Strategically important areas in this drive include: — Internal Combustion Engine — Automotive Lightweighting — Automotive Electric Machines & Power Electronics — Energy storage (including batteries) for Automotive Applications — Other highly disruptive automotive technology Added to this, Autonomous & Connected Vehicles are a high profile area, with a fast developing and Potentially massive global opportunity that is well Aligned with UK skills and capabilities. There is a large Scale opportunity for UK businesses, if they move quickly, to secure a significant part of this future Market. The projects supported by Innovate UK contribute not only to the 2040 objective and fully connected and Autonomous vehicles but also to the UK, through Positive economic, societal and environmental Impacts. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects. Addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Powertrains Lot. Lot 32: International As guidance, this International Lot is comprised of projects that either bring together the UK’s strengths in research and innovation with counterparts overseas, and/or focus on deploying the UK’s Strengths in research and innovation in international markets overseas. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the International Lot. Lot 33: Lightweighting As guidance this Lightweighting Lot is comprised of projects funded to support the UK automotive sector. This includes, but is not limited to: — Light weighting – body, chassis, powertrain. Electrical and interior — Advanced and next generation materials for Automotive applications including composites, matrix Composites, metallic/metals — Design – light weighting for low emission vehicles. Circular economy, functional integration — On vehicle processes – Joining, surface treatments Etc. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Light Weighting Lot. Lot 34: Manufacturing Technologies NEC (Not Elsewhere Classified) As guidance this Manufacturing Technologies NEC (Not Elsewhere Classified) Lot will include projects funded that comprise of the manufacture, manipulation, synthesis and characterisation of Advanced materials where expertise is needed that cannot easily be defined elsewhere. Manufacturing Technologies NEC focuses on projects that aim to stimulate and broaden innovation in manufacturing and materials. Projects may focus on technical feasibility, industrial research or experimental development and could include: — developing more flexible and efficient processes — developing processes that enable faster and greater customisation of products to satisfy consumer demands — developing materials for ease of manufacture — addressing the manufacturing readiness of growing sectors — developing materials for targeted performance specifications — diversifying product and service lines to address new markets — developing novel services and/or business models, that open up new sources of revenue from manufacturing A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Manufacturing Technologies NEC Lot. Lot 35: Material Recovery & Treatment As guidance this Material Recovery & Treatment Lot includes projects funded that comprise: — Valorisation, remanufacture and reuse of waste Materials by novel extraction and processing Technologies Material Recovery & Treatment focuses on projects that aim to stimulate and broaden innovation in manufacturing and materials. Projects may focus on technical feasibility, industrial research or Experimental development and could include: — developing more flexible and efficient processes — developing processes that enable faster and greater Customisation of products to satisfy consumer Demands — developing materials for ease of manufacture — addressing the manufacturing readiness of growing Sectors — developing materials for targeted performance Specifications — diversifying product and service lines to address new Markets — developing novel services and/or business models. That open up new sources of revenue from Manufacturing A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Material Recovery & Treatment Lot. Lot 36: Metals & Metallurgy As guidance this Metals & Metallurgy Lot includes projects funded that comprise of the manufacture, manipulation, synthesis and characterisation of metals including: — Development of new metals through manipulation of the chemistry or processing route — New alloying techniques — New manufacturing processes for the production of Metals. — Steel, aluminium and light metal alloys — Development of analytical methods for Manufacturing of metals A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Metals & Metallurgy Lot. Lot 37: Monitoring Support Services This Monitoring Support Service (MSS) Lot is designed specifically to provide short-term support to a Monitoring Officer already placed in position by a MSP, on behalf of the Innovate UK Monitoring Team. For absolute clarity, there is no part of this role which Is intended in any way to replace the monitoring Service being provided by that MO/MSP. The Support Service is fundamentally additional and responsive. It will be procured under any of the following Circumstances: — A need is identified to provide experienced Moderation advice/guidance to an existing Project/MO Or both (e.g. where eligibility issues arise) — A need is identified to provide Quality Assurance (QA) support/guidance to an existing Project/MO or Both (e.g. for reports prepared by the Monitoring Officer and LPM) — Innovate UK Operations wishes to undertake Portfolio analysis requiring inter-Project discussions — A need is identified to conduct investigation into Project conduct which requires the provision of Support, advice or guidance to the incumbent MO — In the event of a deterioration or breakdown in the Relationship between a Project and its MO, Innovate UK’s Monitoring Team will provide expert and experienced monitoring support in an effort to retrieve the situation and avoid more formal measures. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Monitoring Support Services (MSS) Lot Lot 38: Nanotechnology & Nanomaterials As guidance this Nanotechnology & Nanomaterials Lot includes projects funded that comprise of the manipulation, synthesis and characterisation of nanomaterials including: — Graphene and other 2 dimensional materials — Quantum dots — Manipulation of matter on the nanoscale A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Nanotechnology & Nanomaterials Lot. Lot 39: Non-Metallics As guidance this Non-Metallics Lot includes projects funded that comprise of the manufacture, Manipulation, synthesis and characterisation of non-metallics. This can include: — Glasses: — Flat (structural) glass — Glass used in photonics, — Cement — Portland — Geopolymers — Low carbon cement — Materials with special functional properties such: — Metamaterials — Peltier/thermoelectric materials — Other non-metallic materials NEC NB This lot excludes ceramics and polymers A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Non-Metallics Lot. Lot 40: Polymers As guidance this Polymers Lot includes projects funded that comprise of the manufacture, Manipulation, synthesis and characterisation of Polymers, including: — Polymers of all chemistry types including both Thermoset and thermoplastic — Biopolymers — Rubbers (both natural and man-made) NB This lot excludes polymers specifically designed for use as the matrix for composites. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience To provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Polymers Lot. Lot 41: Prescribed/Open Innovate UK funds and supports disruptive innovation, Leading to novel, new products, processes or services, Derived from research and development in any sector or field. In some instances, Monitoring Services may be required which are not defined by the (existing) Technology but solely by the need to monitor Innovation leading to novel, new products, processes Or services. The Monitoring Service Provider must be Capable of monitoring the realisation within strictly defined Rules, of a clearly-articulated plan for anticipated growth impact for the business(s) leading to a significant return on investment (ROI). This Prescribed/Open Lot is designed specifically to Provide Prescribed/Open Monitoring for the best Business-led ideas or concepts. These can be drawn from any technology, engineering or industrial area likely to lead to sustainable gains in productivity and/or access to new overseas markets through export led business growth. A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described in the Specification and associated Lot Description Document, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Prescribed/Open Lot Lot 42: Resource Efficiency As guidance, this Resource Efficiency Lot includes projects funded that comprise of the development of technologies or methods to: — increase the efficiency of material use — extend the life of manufactured goods — extend the life of materials — recover value at the end of life A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Resource Efficiency Lot. Lot 43: Robotics, Autonomous Systems or Artificial Intelligence As guidance this Robotics, Autonomous Systems or Artificial Intelligence (RAS/RAI) Lot includes projects funded to produce projects funded to produce Innovative ways of improving the competitiveness and extending the areas/domains of coverage of the UK’s Robotics, Autonomous Systems or Artificial Intelligence (RAS/RAI) Sector. The RAS/RAI sector’s Main application areas/domains include: — service robotics for professional or personal Applications — robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) for inspection And maintenance — health and social care, including assistive Technologies, patient care and robotic surgery — entertainment robotics — next generation farming — next generation and SME manufacturing — autonomous transport, including automotive. Aerospace and rail applications — AI for autonomous systems A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the RAS/RAI Lot. Lot 44: Sensor / Instrument (Design & Manufacture) As guidance this Sensor / Instrument (Design & Manufacture) Lot includes projects funded that Comprise: - Design and manufacture of sensors, instruments and Other devices used in manufacturing The Sensor / Instrument (Design & Manufacture) Lot Focuses on projects that aim to stimulate and broaden Innovation in manufacturing and materials. Projects may focus on technical feasibility, industrial research or experimental development and could include: — developing more flexible and efficient processes — developing processes that enable faster and greater Customisation of products to satisfy consumer demands — developing materials for ease of manufacture — addressing the manufacturing readiness of growing Sectors — developing materials for targeted performance Specifications — diversifying product and service lines to address new markets — developing novel services and/or business models that open up new sources of revenue from manufacturing A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this Lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Sensor / Instrument (Design & Manufacture) Lot. Lot 45: Smart Infrastructure As guidance, this Smart Infrastructure Lot includes projects funded to produce innovations that develop smart, resilient and sustainable integrated infrastructure. Smart Infrastructure adds 'intelligence’ to infrastructure systems to: — improve functionality, capacity, security or whole-life Performance — improve resilience and sustainability — design, deliver and manage high performance Infrastructure assets — provide certainty of outcomes, reduce the risk of Failure, cost of delivery, cost of maintenance — improve productivity through digital and Manufacturing technologies — improve quality and safety These projects include the following sub categories: — Digital Construction, BIM (Building Information Modelling), Built Asset Management, Smart Cities, Smart Infrastructure — Built Environment Performance, Sustainability. Lot 46: Space & Satellite Technologies As guidance this Space & Satellite Technologies Lot includes projects funded to produce: — Innovative ways to use data from space (satellite Communications/earth observation with imagery and Novel sensors/satellite navigation) — Technology to improve access to space, satellite Sensor capabilities or infrastructure — Improving productivity and enabling growth through Commercialisation — Reducing the barriers to entry for using data from Space — Creation of new business models using data from Space to disrupt target markets A prospective Monitoring Services provider must demonstrate their capability and relevant experience to provide monitoring assurance of projects addressing any of the scope described above in this lot, which is unique, within this DPS, to the Space & Satellite Technologies Lot. Lot 47: Surface Engineering As guidance this Surface Engineering Lot includes projects funded that comprise: — Chemical or physical modification of a surface to achieve a desired behaviour — Improved or new materials to meet technical or regulatory challenges The Surface Engineering Lot focuses on projects that aim to stimulate and broaden innovation in Manufacturing and materials.
