Kent County Council's aim is to support the development of sustainable study programme provision delivered by a range of specialist providers across the county to support to learners age 16-18, for whom school and college are not the right options. These learners would otherwise become NEET (Not in Education, Employment of Training). This contract will ensure that all Districts in Kent have a suitable offer available to meet the training needs of NEETs and potential NEETs. Furthermore, KCC Community Learning and Skills are seeking to offer an opportunity for external Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) provision for adults, to support both previously offered ‘partnership’ courses for niche provision such as for Deaf/deaf learners, and growth in vocational areas, that meet local labour market needs.
