Supply of rock salt and de-icing products. The purpose of this notice is to notify the market of this forthcoming proposed tender opportunity for the supply and distribution of rock salt and associated products which is being conducted by the National Procurement Service for Wales (NPS). The NPS acts on behalf of the public sector in Wales to deliver value for money from the procurement of common and repetitive goods and services 'once for Wales'. The NPS on behalf of the Welsh public sector wishes to establish a collaborative framework agreement for rock salt and associated products. This framework will be replacing the current NPS rock salt and associated products agreement — NPS-CFM-102-20 when it expires in July 2021. The new framework will be made available for use by all NPS customers. The lotting structure of this framework is yet to be confirmed however key areas are likely to include but are not limited to: — rock salt and pre-coated rock salt (6.3 mm and 10 mm); — pure dried vacuum salt and pre-coated pure dried vacuum salt; — marine salt and pre-coated marine salt; — specialist requirements — potassium acetate, calcium chloride and liquid agricultural by product. It is anticipated that the duration of this framework agreement will be for 24 months with an option to extend for up to a further 24 months. The NPS will be engaging closely with potential bidders during the procurement process to create suitable and cost-effective solutions for its customers. The NPS is striving to develop a vibrant Welsh economy capable of delivering strong and sustainable economic growth by providing opportunities for everyone in Wales. Sustainable development means ensuring that our actions contribute in the round to social, economic, and environmental well-being now and in the future; improving the environment, building stronger communities, reducing social exclusion and poverty and encouraging the development of the economy. The commitment to deliver 'Community Benefit' outcomes from our procurement activity is designed to ensure that wider social and economic issues are taken into account when spending public money. The intention is to achieve the very best value for money in the widest sense. Consequently, community benefit clauses will be considered as part of the proposed procurement as core or non-core or a combination of both to address socio-economic and/or environmental issues.
