Description

The Organisation Development team within Hywel Dda Health Board run a suite of leadership programs concentrated on developing the leaders of our future. The programs we have created and will continue to create promote, support and encourage continuous development and improvement. The intentions laid out in the Parliamentary Review clearly state that a health and care system that’s always learning, listening and empowering is required, and that: “A leader’s job is to create a system where people can learn all the time through a system of continuous improvement. To drive up quality, leaders must have as a central part of their job, not just to manage or deliver care, but continuously to improve it every day. Leaders also need to build skills for improvement throughout the service” The role of the leader is to increase value by addressing quality improvements for patient outcomes; service process and efficiency improvements; increasing innovation capacity and enhancing the effectiveness and costs in relation to pathways of care. In order to nurture a culture of compassion the health board requires our leaders, as the carriers of culture, to embody compassion in their leadership. There is a clear link between supportive leadership and the quality of care in the NHS. Therefore, the aims of our suite of leadership programs is to create a body of people capable of leading sustained improvements in services and systems. It is also to create and enhance a body of people who are equipped with leadership knowledge, skills and confidence to address complex challenges from both a service and personal perspective. In recognition of all of the above, this framework will be based on a call-off arrangement enabling the Health Board to include this input when identified and as required, therefore flexibility in terms of availability and movement between locations across the Health Board will be a key consideration in awarding this framework. As will previous experience of providing action learning and coaching sessions within a healthcare environment, to multi-professional and disciplinary teams working at all levels. This framework will be split into 4 lots, each bidder will be invited to bid for all or individual lots. Those bidders achieving 50%/60% on the quality element and 25%/40% on the cost element will be included on the framework: Lot 1 – Action Learning Lot 2 – Certification in Action Learning Lot 3 – MBTI Feedback Facilitation Lot 4 – Coaching
