Lot 1: An ‘Ireland House’ is a Consulate (or Embassy) that co-locates with other state agencies or North/South bodies and presents a uniform and coherent brand for Ireland abroad, building on the Team Ireland concept of shared services and facilities, and collaborative working practices. For the purposes of this tender, the Consulate General of New York will be the client. The Consulate General intends to lease and fit-out a permanent office space within a multi-storey building in New York. A Project Management company is required to assist the Consulate General in the search and recommendation of a suitable building, through to the procurement of a design team and building contractor and the delivery a completed office space. The new offices should be located in a suitable area of New York, in an appropriate building that meets the needs of the Consulate General, as set out in Section 2 Project General Requirements 2.5. As well as accommodating the brief requirements, the chosen building must be secure, have high quality finishes throughout its common areas, and have the highest of sustainability credentials. The fit-out will require a high quality design solution in line with a modern European Representation that reflects Ireland as a modern society. The building and fit-out should also reflect a sense of the Mission’s purpose, which is to enhance high level business, community, educational and political contacts to promote Ireland’s prosperity, with particular focus on tech and the creative industries. Also, to develop the Consulate General as a focal point for political and community engagement across the mission’s areas of responsibility and to take a lead role in coordinating cultural and artistic linkages to Ireland.
