Description
Bus Átha Cliath has an ongoing need for the supply and maintenance of robust workwear for craftworkers and support staff in the engineering department. It is intended that BÁC will undertake a procurement competition to appoint a provider to undertake this requirement using a Framework Agreement This agreement will include the supply of flame retardant workwear – the successful Tenderer will provide options to staff will include coveralls, work jackets, work trousers and bib and brace style trousers. BÁC has outlined in the specifications the required EN Standards to which the workwear must conform. Tenderers will be required to provide evidence as part of their Tender submission to verify through independent certificates, test reports and other data that their product offering meets these minimum requirements. Items will be appropriately CE marked, be supplied with relevant User Information on initial delivery, and the CE labels will remain legible for the duration of the product life. Each member of staff will issued 5 x sets of workwear (e.g. 5 x coveralls OR 5 x trousers and 5 x jackets OR a combination) which will require a comprehensive laundry service. The service element of the agreement will require a weekly collection and re-delivery service, cleaning, repair and maintenance services, using processes which support the continued conformity of the workwear to the required EN Standards. There is also a requirement for a track and trace service through the barcodes in the garments and provision of regular reporting and / or an online portal where this information can be accessed. In addition, BÁC has a small quantity of Electric Arc rated products used in the training department as pooled/shared stock (i.e. not personal issue). These items are not required to be supplied by the successful Tenderer, but a cost for ad hoc cleaning and maintenance services will be required. This will include collection and return to a single location and a requirement for items to be barcoded. Tenderers should note that whilst Electric Arc protection for all staff is not a current requirement, during the term of the contract the requirement for Electric Arc rated workwear may expand subject to increased use of electric vehicles in the BÁC network and any updates in Regulatory requirements and or BÁC updated risk assessments. Under these circumstances, BÁC reserves the right to amend the technical specification to incorporate Electric Arc protection. BAC has an on-going requirement for apprentice mechanics to be provided with workwear, which requires the successful Tenderer to measure the apprentices on the first day of their induction week and when completing this measuring on their first day, must provide minimum of 2 temporary overalls (boiler suits) on that same day so they are able to complete their training for the rest of the week. The Human Resources Dept in Dublin Bus can provide the sizes for these temporary overalls to the work wear provider in advance of this first day. Tenderers will be required to explain how they will manage this element of the service, which is required once a year. Approx number of apprentice mechanics recruited each year varies between approx. 15 to 25 apprentices and their induction weeks span over a number of consecutive weeks” The maximum duration of this Framework Agreement is three (3) years there may be an additional 16 weeks required for lead in for new set of workwear and there is no intention to extend this.
