Consultative support on forestry and climate change reporting

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) provides inventory data to the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) in order to report forest carbon stocks to the United National Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)/European Union (EU). In order to address this requirement, there is a need for the Contracting Authority to secure appropriate expertise to deliver the requirements of the reporting obligations to UNFCCC/EU. A key feature of the service to be provided will be contact with the Contracting Authority personnel involved in the assessment of carbon stocks in forests, including transfer of knowledge and skills in relation to reporting requirements to UNFCCC/EU. Additionally, the provision of a consultancy support service is to be provided in relation to forestry projections and scenario models for the Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) sector. Objective: To tender for services which provides Forest Sector Development Division with expertise in forest carbon modelling, climate change reporting obligations, and associated tasks. The contract will cover a four year period consisting of an initial 2 year contract, which can be supplemented with 2 additional one year extensions.
