Description

Network Rail is procuring anti-ice material to be applied to the conductor rail on Network Rail's electrified 3rd Rail network, using its fleet of specialist rail vehicles (MPVs and SITTs). The main reason for this procurement activity is to maintain track safety as anti-icing fluid will prevent the adhesion of ice to the rail head and allow electricity to flow to the collector shoe of passing rail vehicles.
