Published

Description

The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to inform the market that it is the
intention of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (The Trust) to issue a tender for the Servicing and Maintenance of the Laundry Production Equipment at Nottingham City Hospital (The Services).

The contract is to replace the existing/previous contract currently in place and preparatory work for the re-procurement is currently underway. The anticipated start date is 1 November 2024 and the Contract Notice is currently anticipated to be published during late spring/early summer 2025.

This notice is not in itself a call for competition and the Trust is not seeking to reduce the time period for the receipt of tenders.

Please note that the date given under II.3. Estimated date of publication of contract notice is INDICATIVE ONLY. Interested economic operators are advised to check the Trust's e-Tendering Portal for further updates. It is intended that the procurement timetable will be published on the e-Tendering portal within the abovementioned timescales. Lot 1: The scope of the contract is to deliver comprehensive engineering services to cover planned preventive and reactive maintenance of the Trust's Laundry Production equipment.

Servicing the laundry equipment regularly supports measures to improve patient outcomes, such as; high quality wash results, optimization of chemical usage, reducing the likelihood of costly downtime as a result of breakdowns and increase of the life of the machinery, mitigating the need to buy a new equipment and machinery as a result of lack of maintenance.

Trust will be conducting the procurement using the open procedure in accordance with the requirements of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/102) (PCR 2015) for the purpose of procuring the Service.

In the event of any delays, the Trust will look to extend its existing/previous contract to ensure sufficient servicing and maintenance cover is in place whilst the procurement exercise is concluded. It is envisaged such extension would not exceed 1 year

Whilst procuring the services via a framework may potentially allow for shorter timescales and mitigate the need for any interim extension, it is understood the market for these services is limited. Therefore, it is envisaged the open procedure will facilitate widest possible access to the market for this contract.
