Walsall Council is seeking an expert provider to develop and pilot a bespoke bid writing training package and evaluate and explore the feasibility of such a package becoming commercially available to the wider public. The modular based, bespoke bid writing training package will be grounded in local context, need, governance and internal processes, including details specific to Walsall. It will include a variety of teaching styles such as online self-learning options as well as material for face-face sessions, and have a variety of interactive learning aids including quizzes, case studies, videos etc. The aim of the training package is to: o Guide and support Council staff and Voluntary & Community Sector (VCS) partners with bespoke, Walsall-specific information to develop successful funding bids. o Enhance Officer capacity for project development and bid preparation. o Encourage collaboration with other service areas and external partners. o Minimise risk to the Council through better planned ideas and bids. o Early identification of issues associated with Service Area proposals e.g. legal, procurement is understood, raised and addressed ahead of bid application. o Improve understanding of innovation and 'added value'.
