Powys Teaching Health Board intend to source bids for delivery of this project via suitable construction contractor tender returns for a Fire Safety Upgrade Works project at Brecon War Memorial Hospital and Bro Ddyfi Community Hospital, Machynlleth.A detailed scope requirements outlining requirements associated with each hospital site is scheduled as follows;Fire stopping/upgrade works to fire compartment lines (Both Site Locations)-Installation works/compartmentation improvement works in accordance with type, location and size defined by survey/design information.-Application of warranted specialist fire stopping product (or approved equivalent, proposed by contractor).Note – Fire stopping requirements detailed as part of Survey, Design and Activity Schedule information contained within the ITT.Emergency Lighting System (Machynlleth Site Only)-Installation, connection and commissioning of new emergency lighting system.-Specialist subcontractor design for new emergency lighting system in line with Health Board produced fire strategy, as well as specification and indicative layout produced by Part B.Fire Alarm System (Machynlleth Site Only)-Installation, connection and commissioning of new fire alarm system.-Specialist subcontractor design for new fire alarm system in line with Health Board produced fire strategy, as well as specification and indicative layout produced by Part B.Door Remediation Works (Both Site Locations)-Replacement of doors/ironmongery across the hospital sites in accordance with new door design schedule and specification.-Repair of doors across the hospital sites in accordance with door design schedule and Firerite door survey for required repairs.-Repair/install by warranted specialist FIRAS accredited door supplier/installer.-Technical submittal for final manufacturer details and measurement details to be proposed/confirmed by contractor.Note – Door remediation requirements detailed as part of Survey, Design and Activity Schedule information contained within the ITT.Underground Duct Access (Brecon Site Only)-Installation and associated works of a new fire rated door/shutter at the entry point to the underground duct within the plant room.-Technical submittal for final manufacturer details and measurement details to be proposed/confirmed by contractor.Powys Teaching Local Health Board recognises the importance of the Welsh language to the communities it serves. Consequently, responses to an invitation to quote or tender will be accepted in Welsh as well as English. However, please note that tender responses submitted only in Welsh will be translated by the Health Board into English before consideration. Those involved in translating the document will be barred from taking decisions on awarding tenders.The tender will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender based on 60% quality and 40%cost as detailed in the ITT document.
