Description
Drone (UAV) survey of peatland areas at RSPB Nature Reserves in Scotland The RSPB nature reserves support large areas of deep peat and some of the largest intact blanket bogs in the world and arguably some of the best of its type. Many areas are internationally recognised for their quality and extent of bog habitats and contains a significant proportion of the global peatland resource. Some sites are internationally recognised as SAC, SPA and Ramsar sites, in addition, many Sites of Special Scientific Interest cover RSPB reserves comprising of blanket bog and associated habitats and species as designated features. RSPB have committed to restore peatland and bogs across our reserves. The work within this tender will provide essential data to help us plan our peatland restoration work and identify features which need restoration. These data will provide both high quality aerial imagery, allowing us to identify and map features requiring restoration. The associated elevation data will inform the most effective approach to restorations with regards to restoration techniques. All drone survey work needs to be completed by 25th March 2023 with data being submitted by 15th April 2023. See Invitation to Tender for more details
