The Resources and Waste Strategy for England, though supporting consultations and the development of new instruments set out in the Environment Act 2021 have put in place policy measures to help drive positive changes in municipal waste recycling. The next phase of policy drivers will conclude Statutory Guidance and supporting Non-Statutory Guidance (NSG) to confirm the secondary legislation that will provide detail to Local Authorities on the minimum requirements for collection of waste and recycling. WRAP has been tasked with helping draft the NSG.
