To investigate fishing grounds, Fiskeridirektoratet [the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries] wants to hire fishing vessels that are equipped and suitable for efficient and practical implementation of missions, including catches and catch measurements. The hired vessel shall conduct surveys on fishing grounds for the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries, which will be administered and managed by the Directorate's marine service headquartered in Tromsø. The hired vessel will be used to perform monitoring of fishing grounds. The vessel must be representative for the vessel group in terms of operating pattern, equipment, catch efficiency and production capacity. The vessel must also be able to operate under the same conditions as similar vessels. The vessel's assignments include carrying out catch operations in the areas required by the Directorate's on-board representatives. Priority tasks include inspection of areas with high fishing pressure, mixing fish below minimum size and sampling as required by the of collaborating agencies such as the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research.
