Southern Connector Road Swindon Borough Council invites contactors to expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of Southern Connector Road Construction. Project Description The proposed scheme is aimed at designing a brand new road to cope with the significant increase in travel demand that will be created by the New Eastern Villages (NEV) development. The proposed scheme will consist of the following key components: • Part signalisation of the A419 Commonhead Roundabout; • Improvement to existing Pack Hill, leading to the proposed SCR roundabout; • New roundabout at the junction of the SCR and Pack Hill; • New T-Junction and realignment of The Marsh; • New bridge over Liden Brook and two culverts to accommodate local minor live streams; • New signalised crossroads at the junction with Wanborough Road; and; • Tie-in with the NEV development based on the 2016 Masterplan The contract term will be 20 months as stated in the ITT documents. Estimated contract spend is £18,437,520 Full details relating to the Works are provided in the tender documents. To participate in this Restricted Procedure, Suppliers will need to Register as a Supplier with ProContract, www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk, then Register an Interest before obtaining access to the Selection Questionnaire (SQ) and draft tender documents. In the event of difficulties registering as a supplier, please refer to the System Administrator Proactis support team ProContractSuppliers@proactis.com SQ clarifications to be submitted in writing via Messaging in ProContract tender portal, including the project reference and title clearly in the Subject title, by 10th August 2020, 1400 hrs UK Local time. The Council's responses to these clarification questions will be issued periodically via Messaging in ProContract tender portal.
