SC230254 - Public Rights of Way (PRoW) Vegetation Clearance

Published

Description

The Council require multi-lot contracts with a number of providers to undertake routine vegetation clearance on identified Public Rights of Way; a statutory requirement. Kent PROW, as the Highway Authority, has a duty under Section 41 of the Highways Act, 1980, to maintain all Public Rights of Way. This includes powers to undertake a range of works and improvements, such as vegetation clearance, surfacing, signage and waymarking, and furniture repair and installation. Maintenance and repair to the Rights of Way network enables safe and accessible passage and ensures paths across Kent are freely available for use by the public. The contract will be split into 10 geographical lots across Kent, combining an element of programmed work together with ad-hoc requirements including areas such as off-road cycle paths.
