The University seeks to secure a system of individually ventilated cages for use at Containment Level 3 to house mice and rats that are fully compliant with Home Office requirements. The proposed work will be with various hazard group 3 human pathogens, including airborne pathogens. The function of each individually ventilated cage shall provide the animals with a quiet, well ventilated environment that is guaranteed not to cause stress, suffering or pain to the animals. The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
