Provision of stray dogs collection and kennelling service within the county of Powys

Powys County Council (the Council) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified, competent and experienced providers for the provision of a stray dog collection and kennelling service within the county of Powys. This service is potentially required for a period of 3 years with options to extend beyond this. You would be required to provide a suitably located stray dog kennel facility for the exclusive use of Powys County Council constructed and managed to licensable standards, including the provision of isolation facilities. You would also need to provide your own vehicle to transport dogs in a suitable and safe manner. The area of coverage would be divided into two lots, however, the Council would also welcome expressions of interest from any providers prepared to cover the whole area. Lot 1: Powys County Council (the Council) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified, competent and experienced providers for the provision of a stray dog collection and kennelling service within the county of Powys. This service is potentially required for a period of 3 years with options to extend beyond this. You would be required to provide a suitably located stray dog kennel facility for the exclusive use of Powys County Council constructed and managed to licensable standards, including the provision of isolation facilities. You would also need to provide your own vehicle to transport dogs in a suitable and safe manner. The area of coverage would be divided into two lots, however, the Council would also welcome expressions of interest from any providers prepared to cover the whole area. The provider(s) will be expected to collect stray dogs on behalf of the Council and transport to stray dog accommodation kennels Mondays to Fridays - 0900 to 1800 hours Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays - 1000 to 1600 hours (excluding Christmas Day). Members of the public will also be able to collect their stray dog during the periods set out above, having made suitable payment to the Council for return of their dog. Any dogs which are not claimed would need to be rehomed by the provider. Any interested supplier can contact the Council by 17:00 on the 28/11/2023 by emailing commercialservices@powys.gov.uk to arrange an informal conversation.
