The University of Strathclyde (“the University”) is seeking to establish a Contract for a Project for MEP / Infrastructure Improvement Works at the John Anderson Building (2025) (UOS-33043-2024). Lot 1: The University is seeking to appoint a works / construction contractor for a project for MEP / infrastructure improvement works at the John Anderson Building. The University of Strathclyde has recently secured Scottish Funding Council (SFC) Financial Transactions (Loan) funding to undertake a project in its John Anderson (Physics) Building. The project has two distinct work packages namely fabric improvements including the installation of a rainscreen overcladding solution and new high performance triple glazed windows, and MEP works that will include the installation of new LTHW heating and new ventilation including new air handling units with heat recovery. These works will be undertaken by two specialist contractors in each of these areas, however, the overcladding contractor will act as the Principal Contractor for the purposes of CDM. Tenders / bids are sought from specialist MEP contractors who have dedicated in-house managerial, technical, design and trades staff with a track record of delivering MEP works within a live working building including some contractor design portion (CDP) elements. The contractor will also have as part of their core in-house staff, fabric trades (joinery) staff who have worked closely with their MEP teams on infrastructure replacement works within a live building. The Contractor will be responsible for completing the Works relevant to the project and based on the Scope. Inclusive of this project is a 12-month defects liability period.
