Taffs Well Depot - Wearing Screed
Published
Buyer
Description
The Taffs Well Depot project is in requirement of a screeding contractor to undertake a wearing screed in the train wash environment as per the included drawing (TRAN01-ARC-R0-TAF-DDR-S-ST-061101 (1)) and photos (see 'Additional Documents' section of this publication). We have the following spec notes which would apply to this requirement: - - Recommendations for wearing screeds are as per BS 8204 Part 2, which recommends the minimum thickness of a bonded wearing screed should be 20mm (in contrast to the 25mm given for a levelling screed in Part 1). - The screed thickness is specified as minimum 25mm assuming it is bonded to structural concrete, however this can be increased if deemed necessary maintaining 1:35 slope. - Screed can be fibre reinforced concrete rather than sand – cement screed to provide higher durability. - Specification can be taken as for Stage 2 concrete infill in embedded track sections in the attached (TRAN01-ARC-R0-TAF-RPT-S-ST-280000) To be selected to undertake these works the successful contractor will require ConstructionLine Gold membership prior to any works being carried out.
