We are looking for a solution that meets (or exceeds) our current technical requirements as well as offering potential for future innovation and developments. Reliability, usability and competitive pricing are also relevant. The solution must include in the base package: • hosted in the cloud (on servers within the EU); • mobile responsive user interface; • functionality for the day-to-day management of reading lists and digitised content; • supports acquisition of reading list content; • seamless integration with other library service (current) systems: — library management system (Symphony, SirsiDynix) in order to identify resource availability o Library Catalogue (Enterprise, SirsiDynix); — discovery package (Summon, ProQuest); — 360 link resolver (ProQuest); — blackboard virtual learning environment (including Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) integration and automated linking of reading lists to corresponding blackboard modules); — offers potential for integration with book supplier platforms; • reporting and analytics; • data migration with no significant gaps; • implementation; • training of key UW staff; • meets or exceeds level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) including a published accessibility statement as required under Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations (PSBAR). (For reference from: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/make-things-accessible ‘EN 301 549 is a standard that covers procurement of web technologies and other types of technology, including hardware and non-web software From a staff and student perspective, the reading list system must be intuitive for them to use and provide seamless access to a number of different resources and display live availability information from within the LMS. Academic and library staff should find it intuitive for creating and populating lists as well as for staff and students to use. For library staff the system must demonstrate that it can support the acquisition of stock and provide efficient workflow solutions as our library collections are driven by reading list content. Academic staff are encouraged to manage their own reading lists and are supported by library services staff. Delivery of reading resources to students for taught modules are made via the Reading Lists system. From rollover data we currently have 3679 active lists on the system and 155138 reading list items (10631 lists in archive) and 2959 live digitisations (19/20 and 20/21) of which 1286 is for 20/21. The University will be holding pre-tender discussions with suppliers who are interested in supplying this to the University. The discussions will take place 15-18 September 2020. If you are interested in attending a discussion with the University, please send a message on this In-tend portal. The University will confirm appointments in early September.
