Provision of a Laboratories Managed Service

NHS Lanarkshire (NHSL) intends to commence procurement of a new laboratories managed services contract in the first half of 2024, with its current estimate being that a contract notice will be published around March 2024 and the procurement concluded by Spring 2025. The health board’s existing laboratories managed service contract incorporates the core disciplines of biochemistry, cellular pathology, haematology and microbiology, and it’s anticipated that all of these disciplines (plus any relevant sub-disciplines) will be included in the new managed service contract being procured. The managed services are required for laboratories at NHSL’s three district general hospitals (University Hospitals Hairmyres, Monklands and Wishaw) and the value of the contract is estimated to be between 6.5 and 7.5 million GBP per annum.
