Description
The Mental Health Supported Living pathway provides important accommodation-based support for up to 199 people with serious mental illness, which includes conditions such as psychotic disorders (including schizophrenia), bipolar disorder and personality disorder. The Contracting Authority is not awarding new contracts, but is proposing short term extensions of between six and twelve months for the services to continue. See section II.2.4 for further detail. Lot 1: This is not a new contract opportunity, but rather a VEAT notice to inform the market that the Contracting Authority is seeking to extend its existing contracts for Mental Health Supported Living Services which were originally awarded between January and August 2020 and are due to expire on either 31 March 2025, 30 April 2025, 31 May 2025 and 30 September 2025. The extension periods will range between six and twelve months co-aligning end dates to 31 March 2026. The Contracting Authority is currently undergoing thorough engagement with key stakeholders, including residents, to redesign the service as well as engaging with the market on its proposals in anticipation of a full competitive process in Spring/Summer 2025. These limited extensions are required to ensure the Contracting Authority meets its legal and statutory duties under the Care Act (2014) and Section 117 of the Mental Health Act (1983), until such time that the successful contractors take responsibilities for these services under the new longer term contracts.
