Description

NRW is seeking to procure a long term contract for the supply of forest plants to cover the whole of Wales from October 2022. NRW will award 3 lots in line with regional boundaries North, Mid and South. We anticipate awarding these long-term contracts by March 2020 with the intention to begin supplying NRW with forest plants from October 2022. NRW manages the Welsh Government Woodland Estate (WGWE) on behalf of the Welsh Government. As part of the management, NRW is responsible for the restocking of the WGWE and requires suitable plants to fulfil this function. NRW require a wide range of species, plant types, provenances and numbers to restock the varying site types and NRW will only purchase plants that are grown in the UK from seed or UK cuttings. The invitation to tender will be advertised in November 2019. A supplier engagement day will be held once the opportunity has been advertised. The scope of supply includes the following categories of material: — bare-rooted conifers including vegetatively propagated plants, — bare-rooted broadleaves, — cell-grown conifer including vegetatively propagated plants, — cell-grown broadleaves. A proportion of the conifer supplied will need to be insecticide treated. NRW manages the Welsh Government Woodland Estate (WGWE) on behalf of the Welsh Government.
