Manufacture of Gul-e Units and Tool

Published

Description

Quotations are invited by Oxford Direct Services Trading Limited (ODS) in respect of the above requirement. The successful Supplier will be responsible for providing this requirement, liaising closely with the Commercial and Operations Director.

The UK government will end the sale of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles by 2030 and hybrid vehicles by 2035. The Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution (2020) impresses a focus on accelerating transition by supporting adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs).

To enable sufficient uptake, charging must be accessible and affordable for all. However, around 25% (6.6 million) UK households rely on on-street parking and are therefore unable to charge EVs at home.
ODS (alongside Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City Council) has developed a solution that is at the leading edge of cable channel charging innovation; the Gul-e. Gul-e provides an easy-to-use, convenient and simplistic solution for on street residents that saves them money (compared to public charging alternatives).

Gul-e is a durable gully/channel that is seamlessly and permanently encased in the footway. To charge their EV, the user simply parks on the street in front of their home, presses the charging cable into the Gul-e and plugs their vehicle into their own home charger.

Further details can be found at Gul-e.co.uk

The RFQ is divided into two lots. The first will be for the Gul-e including the supply of the brush insert. The second is for the tool that can be used to aid the electric vehicle charging cables insertion into the Gul-e.

The selected manufacturer(s) will be fully responsible for the end-to-end production of Gul-e units & Tools in strict adherence to the defined specifications. This responsibility encompasses:

• Material Sourcing: Procuring high-quality materials that meet the required standards.
• Fabrication & Assembly: Ensuring precision in cutting, shaping, and assembling components as per technical drawings.
• Quality Assurance: Implementing rigorous testing protocols to guarantee compliance with performance, durability, and safety standards.
• Packaging & Delivery: Secure packaging and timely delivery of finished units to designated locations.
