Das Projekt dient dem Ersatz der vorhandenen Leit- und Sicherungstechnik der DB-eigenen Gleise durch ESTW-Technik. Die Anlagen im Anschluss der MIBRAG verbleiben in der bestehenden Technik. Die Bedienung des Anschlusses soll im Nordkopf weiterhin durch Zugfahrten über die Anschlussweiche 8 (siehe angehängte Ist-/Soll-Spürpläne) erfolgen. Die südliche Anbindung der MIBRAG soll verändert über die neue Weiche 30 erfolgen, woraus sich weitere notwendige Anpassungen des Spurplans ergeben. Es sind Fahrstraßenanpassungen (FAP) zu planen, bei denen die Fahrstraßen über den Stellbereich des ESTW in den Anschluss der MIBRAG verlaufen.
