Description

Tenders are invited for the Supply and delivery of a Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer and Autosampler, for Trinity College Dublin (TCD). A state-of-the-art instrument (or suite of instruments) is required to perform Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) analysis and Antioxidants analysis of liquid fuels, including petroleum distillates, crude oils, and extending to fuels that result from experimental synthetic processes, in general accordance with ASTM D4054. The methodology of FAME analysis should be in accordance with IP 585 and the instrument must be provided with all necessary attachments as per the aforementioned standard. This instrument will be used for analysis of complex semi-volatile fuel mixtures. In particular, GC/MS spectra will be generated that will require the support of an extensive natural product and petroleum products mass spectral database (FAME analysis, antioxidants type database and petroleum components database). In addition, the device/software must be able to perform the Selective Ion Monitoring (SIM) method of separating components present in the complex hydrocarbon mixtures. As an additional research capability, the instrument package proposed should be able to perform the standard procedures mentioned in ASTM D2425, EPA Method 8260, EPA Method 8270 and UDR-FC-M-102 Lot 1: Tenders are invited for the Supply and delivery of a Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer and Autosampler, for Trinity College Dublin (TCD).
