Genetics Nurse (Cardio)

Description

The Genetics nurse has been working for South Tees NHS Foundation Trust (STH) for 15 years under a rolling agreement with South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT).<br/><br/>The service provided by the Genetic Nurse is an essential provision of Family History Clinics as part of the regional genetics and Inherited Cardiac Conditions service. If the clinic provision cannot continue as it does, patients referred for investigation of inherited cardiac conditions will have to travel to Newcastle for this service.<br/>Work is ongoing with the Cardiac Network to renew the regional provision and improve resilience and cross-cover between hospital sites. This will allow us to continue to provide care close to home for all in the Northeast. However, for immediate term, there is a requirement for continuation of 2 clinics delivered per week, as per existing arrangement, to meet the demands of the service and to service the Tees Valley population. Lot 1: This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. The publication of this notice marks the start of the standstill period. Representations by providers must be made to the relevant authority by [Add date]. This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR. Additional information: The decision makers for this award were the Cardiac Management Team. There were no declared conflicts of interest in relation to this award and selection process. The reason to award to the selected provider was due to the long standing agreement with the existing provider and their ability to fulfil the contract to the required standards. This award is for coverage of the next 5 years.
