Reserve cooling for the Munch Museum

There is a need for reserve cooling for the Munch Museum in Bjørvika. In order to be able to provide thermal energy in the form of cooling, the contracting authority or tenderer must have access to a site nearby so that an energy centre can be established as well as the accompanying infrastructure. The contracting authority cannot provide a site/area that can be used due to PBE's rejection to use the museum roof and the fact that the technical rooms in the basement are full. Neither does the contracting authority have another relevant site/area nearby. Work has been widely carried out over several years in order to find a solution to the challenges, without any success. A tender conference was held before summer 2022 after a prior notice on Doffin. There was only one interested party that turned up to the tender conference and that registered their interest. We have concluded that it is technically impossible to provide reserve cooling for the Munch Museum without the required infrastructure and an available site, c.f. the PPR § 13-4 b) number 2.
