Rutland County Council (RCC), with a grant received from the Levelling Up Fund, is seeking tender submissions from providers with proven experience in fossil conservation and 3D digitisation for the comprehensive de-jacketing, conservation, preparation, mounting and associated digitisation of the Ichthyosaur fossil. This process involves detailed handling of delicate fossil material currently encased in plaster-of-paris field jackets. The successful provider will be able to complete the work by the end of March 2026. This tender document outlines the scope, specifications and deliverables expected from prospective Contractors. Further information on the requirement and relevant performance standards are available within the Specification. The anticipated contract commencement date is 21 Oct 2024. The Council proposes to enter one contract commencing on 21 Oct 2024 with the preferred supplier, ending on 30 September 2026.
